July/August Faves...

 

Hey there again Beautifuls! Yes this post is late but I'm getting this up today so help me God!!

 

I didn't get to do a July faves post so I'm combining my July and August faves and cheating a little bit...

Firstly I've been loving my Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner Water.  This smells like all lush products typically do and contains lots of lovely essential oils such as Rose Absolute, Patchouli Oil and Rosemary Oil which gives the skin a nice little perk up and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and hydrated.  It comes in a spritz bottle and the instructions claim you can spray this directly on to the skin however I feel it doesn't dispense in an even mist and you just end up looking overly sweaty that way so I spray onto a cotton pad and swipe over after cleansing.

Then I use my trusty Neals Yard Vitamin E and Avocado Night Cream.  This is great even for morning use as a little goes a very long way and it sinks in very quickly leaving the skin feeling comfortable.  This also contains lots of lovely essential oils such as Jojoba Seed oil, Geranium Flower oil and Lemon Peel oil which gives it a nice herbal sort of scent but also makes you feel it's immensely good for the skin.

As an SPF base for the skin and also a great moisturiser I've also been loving my Origins Vitazing moisturiser.  This has tiny beads of pigment which work to even the skintone and give a slight hint of colour, not much though.  I love using this before foundation as I tend to use it solely for it's moisturising and sun protective properties and not for its coverage.  I can however (on a good skin day) wear this alone and still feel I'm not totally in my own skin

On the eyes I've really been enjoying using my Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream eyeshadow in the shade On and On Bronze.  This has been great as a base for shadow and I've pretty much been using this everyday with a shimmery champagne colour in the inner corner as a highlight and a deeper chocolatey shade to darken the crease and outer corner.  It really does give the shadow something to cling to and helps it last all day without creasing.

Recently I've dug out my Dior Skin Forever extreme wear flawless makeup foundation and decided to show it some love.  Initially I purchased this for special occasion use only but now that I've got my beady eyes on the new YSL Touche Eclat foundation I'm using this up in order to justify the splurge!  This really does live up to it's name...It leaves you with a flawless finish and amazing looking skin.  I would say this is a medium with slightly more coverage and feels like silk on the skin.  It has an SPF 25 so does give a little bit of flashback but I'm not usually bothered by that...I'm hardly going to be papped everywhere I go am I?!

To set the foundation I usually just use my Revlon Photoready powder.  This also gies coverage as well as setting so works great over a lighter foundation for that added bit of coverage and doesn't make me look overly done or too cakey which is pretty good for my dry skin. Thumbs up Revlon!

and finally on the cheeks I've been sporting a peachy shade with a glowy highlighter on top for that summery bronzed look.  Enter Fashionista's London blush with 17 Instant Glow Gold Bronze shimmer brick over the top.  Both products are highly pigmented, a little goes a long way especially with such a shimmery highlight but buffed and blended in properly and this looks great!

Review...Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

I'm Going to jump on the Kissable balm stain bandwagon and I come bearing crappy Iphone pics n all! Yay! :D

I was browsing through superdrug oblivious to the release of these and spotted them...I have to say I stood a little dumbfounded for a minute and I was good and walked away (only to rush back the next day and buy the above shades...)

Yes I have no restraint or self control...

I have to say I'm really impressed with these, they have a minty smell which I like, and obviously the packaging is comparable to that of the infamous Clinique Chubby sticks.  They're currently on offer in both Boots and Superdrug for £5.99 which is an introductory offer (RRP will be £7.99)

The consistency is quite balmy to begin with but then turns a little bit waxy but the colour pay off is pretty good and wear-time is approx 4-6 hours before you need to reapply with eating and drinking which I can live with and I haven't experienced that 'drying-settle-in-the-lines' feeling which gives them a big thumbs up for me! :D

I initially wanted to pick up the Orange shade but I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone a little bit with these and I've not regretted it yet.

Febbie Faves...

Howdy doody folks?

As we have well and truly kissed goodbye to February, it's time for Febbie Favourites!

Now these are just going to be things I'm loving right now that I havent previously raved about already (nope no more E45 and Volume Million Lashes gushing...you all get the idea I love those all throughout the year).

I recently finished my E45 and thought, I'll wait a while and finish one of my many accumulated moisturisers before re-purchasing so I've been loving my Body Shop Mango body butter.  It's specially formulated for very dry skin and has a very thick consistency. I've been using this on my face for those stubborn dry patches at night, on my footsies to get them nice and prepped for spring and summer and anywhere I've needed it really.  It has a bit of a mango yoghurt sort of smell which I love and the smell lingers on the skin for a good few hours.

I've given my Photoready a rest for the past few weeks as my skin has been in pretty good nick and I've been using a sheer wash of clinique's supermoisture foundation, It's a lightweight yet kind of thick foundation with buildable coverage and leaves your skin with a dewy finish (think photoready but lighter).  It doesn't feel heavy on the skin, in fact I hardly even notice it when I'm wearing it.

I've also given my elf black cream liner a rest and been using a pencil liner smudged on the top lash-line and top and bottom water-lines for a bit of a more smokey look than a solid cat-eye.  The one I happen to be using at the mo is Revlon's grow luscious in 001 Onyx, It stays put for  fair few hours but will fade on the water-line after about 4-5 hours and will smudge a little if you have oily lids but to be fair I kinda like that lived in smudgy liner look.

For my lips I've pretty much just been using balms and tints, not really a lipstick or a lipgloss sorta girl unless I'm wearing a full face of makeup but the past few weeks have been minimal makeup weeks so I've just been using my Body Shop sweet lemon lip butter sometimes with a bit of Sleek pout polish in powder pink over the top.

For the lids I've been using my Sleek limited edition eyeshadow pallette from the Avoir La Peche collection, it has some lovely spring appropriate colours, great pigmentation for the price and a lovely mix of matte and shimmery shades with a few smokey colours thrown in for good measure.

Those are really the only 'new' products I've been using last month, I'm still loving my Mac paintpot in Rubenesque and my Look Beauty blush in Rosy.

My Lipstick collection...

Hey there Beautifuls,

So this is a quick insight into my lipstick collection, I have a lot of cheap lippies ranging from a few years back...Yes I know I should get rid! But I hardly ever wear lipstick, I prefer balms and glosses but I'll let you guys in on what my favourite ones are when I am feeling in a lippy sort of mood

Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Platinum Blush.

It has a lovely creamy sort of consistency, non drying with average colour pay off, but then again it is a pale colour.  It's scented which I dont really like but I definitely show this TLC. I've even kept the box and I've had this for over a year I'd say.

I'm trying to put my busy-doing -nothing schedule aside and blog as frequently as I have done in the past because I've always got something to say, I just get a bit *ahem* lazy *ahem* when it comes to putting it down in writing, for instance I've been meaning to show you guys the amazing bargains i've come across during the january sales but it's taken me so long to get my act into gear that I kind of feel there's no point in doing it now....

Anyway this post is about celebrity beauty (not so secret) secrets!  Everybody loves a bit of gossip right? and everybody loves a bit of a bargain right? RIGHT! so here's some things I bet you didnt know but probably will be eager to try..

DID YOU KNOW...Cheryl Cole actually wears and recommends the Loreal Glamshine lipglosses that she advertises...because at £6.99 you would think that she would prefer wearing something with a heftier price tag just because she can but she does actually wear them.  (makes me just that little bit more inclined to try them now...)
And did you also know that she's a big fan of E45 cream for her dry skin! CHERYL....ME TOOO!

DID YOU KNOW...Emma Stone likes to use Grapeseed oil as an all over body moisturiser after a shower?   Emma says...'After the shower, I pat it on, and then I'll use it throughout the day and at night. I pretty much smell like grape all the time.'  She uses the Filippo Berio brand which I can say is brillint, I use their olive oil every night to remove my makeup and because I have horribly dry skin it just leaves my skin feeling wonderful so with the grapeseed oil being priced at only £4 I'm definitely going to give that a go!

DID YOU KNOW...Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon actress Michelle Yeoh likes to use a home-made Lemon wash on her skin?  This is a tip for those of you with oily skin as the acid in lemon cuts through the natural oil in the face.  Her tip is to mix the juice of two to three lemons, hot water, and two to three tablespoons of honey together in a jug and use as a face rinse. For not-so-oily skin, add more water to make lemon less intense.

DID YOU KNOW...Eva Mendez, Kate Hudson and Madonna all recommend one product for their youthful and fresh looking skin?  Bet you're thinking it costs a bomb right? Bet you're not even interested anymore because it's got to be an invasive surgical procedure right? WRONG! It's a little pot of magic apparently....Eqyptian Magic to be precise.  It contains olive oil, beeswax, honey and royal jelly and claims to be a powerful moisturiser that soothes redness, rashes and sunburn. It costs just £25 or less so I may be on the lookout for this in the summer because I tend to burn very easily!

DID YOU KNOW...Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge uses Nivea viasage's pure and natural moisturising day cream which is priced at only £5.10!!! Apparently she was spotted browsing through a Boots store in London and came out with this bargain product! Erm...excuse me for just a second...*runs off to the nearest Boots still in PJ's to go and get this!!!* (well if it's good enough for a Princess! It's definitely good enough for me!!)

DID YOU KNOW...Jessica Alba uses the Revlon Custom Creations Foundation, It works brilliantly as a multipurpose product because you can turn the dial to your perfect all over shade and then click up one or two shades darker and use the darker shade in the hollows of the cheek as a contour and bronzer.  Im a big big fan of the Revlon Photoready liquid and powder foundations so I'm curious to give this a go too!

Well guys I hope you found this as interesting as I did because lets face it we all want to live the celeb lifestyle right? but without the celeb price tag so with a few products now i guess we can a little bit...!
