April Faves...

Hey there beautifuls

I love April! April is the month where (technically!) the weather gets warmer and the sun shines more...It's also the month where I turn a year older!

This month I've been loving some beauty items I hadn't really tried before but have fallen in love with nevertheless.

When it comes to foundation I tend to stick with what I know best but everybody raved about the bourjois healthy mix foundation so much...well curiosity killed the cat and I just had to try it. The first time I tried it I hated it, it caked, settled in my lines and dry spots, and didn't look very good...

I then tried it again on top of a good moisturiser and guess what? I fell in love! It evened out my skin and just smoothed over my fine lines and pores. Made my skin look healthy and flawless and the colour match was pretty good too. It's safe to say I'm now in love.

Recently I've been loving the glowy highlighted cheek and I've fallen back in love with my Sleek Glo highlighter in Peach Shimmer. The product is soft, not powdery. Very pigmented and a little goes a long way. Apply too much and you can end up looking disco-ballish but buffed in just looks beautiful

Again this has been a rediscovery but I recently found some stuff that I'd packed and moved from my Uni Halls about 6 months ago and only just un-packed (yup I'm hanging my head in shame as I type this) But look what I found in the process of un-packing...? My too faced Natural eye pallette that I purchased quite a while back, it's 9 colours cater for a neutral/smokey eye easily adaptable from day to night looks and all in a nice compact little box :D

Image from Body shop website
What with the weather being absolutely pants to put it nicely my hands have had a pretty rough time! they're dry and cracked and even quite sore in some places and these little Body Shop saviours have been brilliant to have in my handbag or makeup bag. I've tried all the scents and love them all especially the Wild rose, it has a light fresh cut rose petal scent which lingers on the skin. I hate greasy and oily hand creams but this sinks into the skin and gives the moisture without the mess. It soothes the soreness and there aren't enough good things I can say about this...Oh and also at the time of writing this The Body Shop were having a sale where you can pick up the large 100ml size for £5 so obviously I stocked up!

Image from Elf website
I've had this ELF face kabuki in my room for what seems like years now and I'm a bit OCD with new products, I like to use the absolute crap outta old ones before cracking open a new one but my old kabuki (a cheapy bourjois one which felt like sand paper on my face!) had really seen better days and I thought why the heck not? I absolutely should have done this months ago! This feels like velvet on the skin, is sturdy and easy to grip and does not shed hair.

I'm in the market for a good eye cream seeing as sleepless nights and early mornings have left me with huge bags and panda like dark circles. Can anyone recommend a good eye cream?

Thanks for following and thanks for all your lovely comments!

Until next time

Review...Liz Earle cleanse and polish

Hey there beautifuls,

My little Mu's gone to a good home today, didn't stop me balling my eyes out saying goodbye :'(

I know she'll be well looked after and loved but I miss her already, I miss her putting her little paws on my face and rubbing noses with me and purring thank you after I've fed her.  Clearing away all her bits and bobs today was the hardest...Before I start the sniffling again I'll review the product shall I?

I was browsing the magazine aisles and came across a sample sized freebie with 'Red' magazine.  I can't say I've ever read Red hehe but with the freebie being the infamous Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish how could I say no?

My thoughts? I hate it, I know it's a cult product and a must-have for millions but it just didn't react well with me.  On first use it stung my eyes and the minty cooling sensation was taken to extremes on my dry sensitive skin.  It even left me with slightly swolen tingly lips which was not a good look I tell ya!

As far as cleasing went I don't think it worked as well as my Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser which actually worked better on my mascara and eyeliner and it left my skin feeling tight and even dryer which again doesn't happen with my Vitamin E cleanser.

In a nutshell the only good thing about my buying the mag was the muslin cloth which also came free and the mag which was a pretty good read!

I really wanted to love the Liz Earle but sadly it just wasn't for me, it just goes to show you that what may work brilliantly for one person may be toxic for another.

Thanks for all yur lovely comments and kind words of supports, you guys have no idea just how wonderful they are and how much they mean to me and thank you again for sticking by me.  With my lovely little Mu sleeping sound somewhere else tonight I guess I'll have much more time to blog now.

Update at midnight...

Hey there beautifuls!

I'm sitting here late at night seeing as the kitten has fallen asleep and I've got some time to myself I thought I'd give you guys a bit of an update.

1. Muezza should have gone to another home today but the lady that meant to have her had some personal issues and we're unsure of whether she can have her at all now (fingers crossed for Mu please, She needs a good loving home).  If it was up to me I'd snuggle her and never let her go but I have a pregnant sister-in-law who it scared whitless and a mum that's wheezing away.

2.  I finally got to try the Liz Earle cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser and although I will have a full review coming up, I have to just say, I reacted really badly to it and I hate it!  As much as I wanted to love this with it's rave reviews everywhere I go I just did not get on with it and my love for my Superdrug vitamin E hot cloth cleanser has grown even more.

3.  I have a job interview on Thursday, wish me luck as my cosmetic addiction needs funding and at the moment pennies are fair and few haha.  I've been told that I was recommended for the job personally and that I have a good shot and without giving you guys too much information I'm really hoping I get it as I need some normality in my life.

4.  This is a little bit personal but a few years back I suffered with panic attacks, horrible panic attacks in very crowded public places and I thought I'd left those behind me however a week ago I had an attack sitting in Costa with people staring at me and it wasn't very pleasant I tell ya!  I did try taking Kalms at one time but didn't really see a difference? Can anybody recommend anything for panic attacks or if anybody swears by Kalms can you please let me know? I'd relly appreciate it

Thanks for listening to me waffle on about what essentially is a load of idle chit chat but I can tell ya writing this has taken a load off my mind :)

Please continue leaving me your lovely comments and thank you again for sticking by me and following my humble little blog.

Until Next Time

Kitten diary...

Hey there beautifuls

If you're wondering where I've been then here it is...

Her name's Muezza (moo-eh-za) Meaning valued or cherished in arabic.  She was already named and it's such an unusual but beautiful name I didn't want to rename her.  So meet Muezza.  She's beautiful, she has white paws and blue eyes and she's adorable but a lot of work.

Being a baby she's demanding a lot of attention but after only having her two days I love her, she's a part of the family and we could sit and laugh for hours about her funny little kitten antics!

The problem...? She's flared up my asthma and my mum's had an allergic reaction to her too and we may have to say goodbye :'(

I spent a long time yesterday trying to detatch myself from her and prepare to give her away but all I could do is cry, I don't want to give her up.  Anybody got any suggestions or advice for keeping a kitten?

In other news things have been a bit crappy, but Mu's getting me through it.

I should have some proper posts up soon I promise

The 'Blog of Beauty' Tag...

Hey there beautifuls

I was personally tagged to do this by the lovely Pretty Paper Dolly and thought seeing as she ever so kindly tagged me to do this I should do it. Oh and pop over to her blog and show her some love please, shes awesome! :D

Rules -

1) You must answer all 5 questions

2) You must tag 6 other beauty blogger's

3) You must link the blogger who tagged you in your post

The 5 questions -

1) What is your favourite part about blogging?
* I don't know about anyone else but I guess I just get excited about discovering new products or showing you all what I've been buying recently, or even just helping someone to eat healthy and keep fit, It feels so satisfying when I get asked health related questions because that is what I have studied and toiled 4 long hard years to do and it makes it all worthwhile I guess...

2) Is there something you dislike about blogging?
* Hmmm sometimes I guess it becomes a bit of a 'follower' centred thing where the more followers you have the better your blog is when in reality, if I have 5 followers who absolutely love my blog and follow because they can't wait to read my posts, It's better than having 50 followers who have only come over because I asked them to.  Hope that makes sense! lol

3) What are your favourite types of posts to read?
* I love beauty related posts obviously, mostly makeup reviews and hauls but I also love health posts and nursey related posts, I'm quite keen to keep updated on what new developments there are on the health front.

4) What's your favourite post from your own blog?
* Hmmm I suppose this is my moment to toot my own horn! lol but I'm not sure really I suppose my 'You are what you eat' post was quite popular and I'm quite fond of my 'Inspired' Posts too...

5) Which beauty product do you want to purchase due to reading another persons blog?
* OOh there is no way I can just pick one product for this post but I suppose if we're talking brands then Topshop makeup in general due to Zoella's raves about their Infrared Lipstick especially...

I Just want to thank the lovely Pretty Paper Dolly for tagging me to do this tag and I'm going to cop out and say I tag everybody! lol There're too many wonderful bloggers out there but to pick a few I'll say....
The Gorgeous Goldilocksx0

and the wonderful Courtney Giles

Cant wait to read other people's answers

Welcome to all the new followers and thank you so much for your wonderful comments...Until next time

Here's a haul to say I'm sorry...

Howdy Beauts!

I never thought I'd be a lousy blogger apologising for my absence but I guess I am! Oopsy!

I blame my being poorly and my evil dentist for my lack of post-age and even though all I want to do is sleep right now I figured I should atleast post some pics that I've had lying around for a couple of weeks now.

As with most of the country...I gave in to the Revlon lip butter hype....In a big way! (along with the L'oreal Caresse lipsticks too!) My excuse? It was my birthday on the 8th and I figured now was as good a time as any to splurge a little...

Now Boots are currently having a 3 for 2 offer so that is why I have 6 however I did actually pick up another 3 Lip butters the other day which I suppose I should post in another haul with a few of my birthday goodies from my friends.  I'm not really going to review these as I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about them but my thoughts in a nutshell? I'm very impressed, surprisingly long lasting colour, great colour range and basically...I LOVES THEM! :D

I also picked up the Maybelline Colour tattoo 24 hour cream shadows in 'on and on bronze', 'Permanent Taupe' and Eternal Gold'  These are very comparible to the Mac paintpots in consistency and application, they last a fair while but they do tend to crease by the end of the day.  These were 3 for 2 also and priced at £4.99 for one I think they're a bargain compared to Mac!

Way back when Boots were giving away their No 7 vouchers I picked up these purely because I didn't really need anymore face wipes and didn't want any more makeup...
My skin being very sensitive and very prone to burning in tepid sunshine I saw this Anti-Ageing ShimmeringLlip and Eye Screen in SPF 30 hidden in a corner and instantly became curious, I've been using this mainly around my eyes because I have a few lip balmy jobbies with Sun protection but nothing really for my eyes.  Now I can't comment on this properly because as soon as I got this...The sun went back into hiding but I shall review it further when I've put it through it's paces and with the £5 off it only cost around £2.  The nail polish in 'Beanie' was a pure spur of the moment thing as this was one of the few colours of which I didn't really have in my collection already

Now I know this post has been a bit rushed, and I promise my usual standard of post-aging shall resume very soon but I just can't seem to find the energy to do anything and I'm ALWAYS grumpy, If I lived with me I'd have smacked me a couple of times to date!

Thank you for all your wonderful comments and a big hello to all the new followers!  Congratulations again to Courtney who won my first ever giveaway and thank you for everybody who took part in it! I was well chuffed with your comments and questions.

Enough ramblings from me I think.

Ciao for now world!
